Byteful launches TCP/IP fingerprint emulation (beta) for datacenter and ISP proxies

Byteful lets datacenter and ISP proxy customers choose the operating system their TCP/IP fingerprint appears to come from (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iOS), per request or at export. Residential and mobile proxies are not included in the beta.

Byteful has launched TCP/IP Fingerprint Emulation as a beta feature. Customers of its datacenter and ISP (static residential) proxies can choose which operating system their connection appears to come from: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android or iOS.

According to Byteful's announcement, the fingerprint can be set in two ways:

  • Per request: the operating system is passed as a parameter in the proxy username, for example USER_os_windows, so one proxy can serve several setups.
  • At export: a fingerprint is chosen when exporting a proxy list from the dashboard, and every proxy in the file carries it.

The feature works alongside Byteful's existing OS Targeting, which selects proxies by the operating system they run on. Byteful describes the two as complementary: one changes the transport-layer behaviour of the connection, the other selects proxies by the OS they run on.

Scope and limits:

  • Available for datacenter and static residential (ISP) proxies only. Rotating residential and mobile proxies are not part of this release.
  • Marked as beta; Byteful asks customers to report issues via support or the Byter AI Agent in the dashboard.

Byteful's blog dates the launch to 8 October 2026; IPS republished the press release on 21 October 2026.

This is a product feature announcement. It does not change any listed price, plan or availability on its own.
