Trust Wallet’s security team has warned users about a fraudulent website that used the company’s branding to advertise a cryptocurrency payment card, crypto.news reported on October 28.
According to the report, the website promoted three card tiers and advertised benefits including a spending limit of up to $100,000, cashback of up to 8%, no identity verification, zero foreign-exchange fees and airport lounge access. It also advertised card issuance for $1 and asked visitors to connect their crypto wallets.
A representative of Trust Wallet’s security team confirmed that the website was not associated with the company. The representative directed users to Trust Wallet’s official app and website and cautioned against approving suspicious wallet-connection requests or signatures. No confirmed financial losses, affected wallet addresses or details about the site’s operators were reported.
Connecting a wallet does not by itself necessarily authorize a transfer. However, subsequent malicious transaction requests or signatures can grant an attacker spending permissions over tokens. Users should verify that they are using official channels and carefully review any transaction or permission request before approving it.
